Treatments for rosacea

Rosacea usually develops in people between the ages of 25 to 55. The disease begins with the rupture of capillaries. With time, the skin becomes dry, aching, and increasingly red, there are papules and pustules on the surface. In the course of the disease, inflammatory changes can occur within the eyelids, conjunctiva and cornea, resulting in tearing, burning and dryness of the eye. In advanced stages, hypertrophy of the sebaceous glands, fibrosis and lymphatic edema occur. For men Rhinophyma - the hypertrophy of the skin of the nose can also occur. The deterioration of this state often is influenced by changes in temperature, strong sun exposure, alcohol and spicy foods. A typical symptom is flushing.
