Botulinum neurotoxin - smoker’s lines

Vertical wrinkles above the upper lip are called the ‘smoker’s lines’, although they may also occur if you’ve never smoked. Most often, they appear after the age of 45 but younger people can struggle with them as well.

Botulinum toxin treatment is recommended only if the smoker’s line is visible during certain upper lip movements, for example speaking.

In cases where the smoker’s line are deep and visible also when we are not moving our lips, we can fill them with hyaluronic acid. In some cases, in order to smooth out wrinkles, it is necessary to combine both of these methods.
