5 ways to SUCCESSFULLY stick to your New Year's resolution
Did you know that over 90% of New Year's resolutions are not achieved? How to prevent this? Read and learn how to achieve your goal.
New Year - new resolutions, tasks, motivation. Psychologists claim that the beginning of the year is a great time to set challenges for ourselves. Social trends and the symbolic new beginning strongly support this. Yet, most New Year's resolutions are abandoned within the first two months of the year. Don't let this apply to you too.
Here are our 5 ways to EFFECTIVELY stick to your resolution:
If your task for the new year is to run a marathon, and your favorite sport so far has been running to catch the bus, this goal may be almost unattainable. However, if we set a goal to regularly train to run 5-10 km by summer, with the right amount of effort put into it, it becomes within our reach.
The vast majority of New Year's resolutions involve taking care of one's figure. However, simply stating "I will lose weight" is imprecise and we have no way to determine the degree of success. It's much better to say "I will reduce my waistline by x cm". Similarly, instead of "I will take better care of myself," let's decide that, for example, once a week we will dedicate 1 evening or afternoon only for ourselves for various treatments (hairdresser, massage, aesthetic medicine, or a relaxing bath). Such specifics are much more motivating for our brain than general statements.
Losing 12 kg sounds a bit daunting, doesn't it? On the other hand, the vision of losing 1 kg per month is not only less stressful but also healthier for our body. Try to break down your goal into factors and set specific deadlines for their achievement. By achieving smaller successes, motivation grows, and our final resolution becomes much more realistic.
Often in our resolutions, we put all our eggs in one basket, which makes the path to the goal more difficult. Just like in the previous point of breaking down the task into smaller parts, analyze your intention and use various ways to reach your goal. By doing this, we maximize results and it will be easier for us to persevere. For example, if you want to slim down, the same workout at the gym may at some point be insufficient. However, if you combine physical activity with a good diet and with treatments that break down or remove fat tissue, the effect will be much faster and better, and you will have to devote much less effort and time to it.
Nothing motivates further action as much as seeing yourself before the transformation, or comparing the time of the first run to that after several months of training. Also, to better see the effects, take photos, notes, or record short videos of your progress for yourself in the future. Contrary to appearances, we quickly get used to new, better conditions, appearance, or well-being and over time we stop appreciating it. Documenting the journey from the New Year's resolution to its realization will allow us to see at what pace we are approaching our goal, and in the future, it will help us to derive greater satisfaction from the work done.
We hope that you will achieve all your resolutions, and we will gladly help you with those related to taking care of yourself and your figure.
