EFFECTIVE SCARS REMOVAL

After the accident, burns, sunburns, surgery or inflammation of the skin, for example acne, smallpox, skin may remain with a permanent mark: recess, raised scars, and acne scars. If such changes, such as uneven skin tone or discoloration are in visible places of the body, it can be a problem both in an aesthetic and psychological matter. The aim of our efforts is to stimulate tissue renewal and regeneration to re-align the structure and skin tone and reduce, smooths and soften it.

Acne scars

Acne scars can result from even the mildest form of acne, although they usually stem from deeper cystic acne. They can appear on the skin due to lack of or improper acne treatment.

Acne scars are formed by damaging the dermis layer of the skin and have an atrophic nature. They take the form of indentations or raised bumps with irregular shapes, varying depths and sizes, as well as discolorations. They differ from the rest of the skin in color, lack of hair follicles, and greater elasticity and resistance to sunlight. As collagen levels in the skin decrease with age, acne scars may become more visible.

At Ambasada Urody Clinic & Spa, we offer a wide range of treatments for acne scars, which can be used individually or in combination to treat all types of acne scars or scars on other areas of the body or face.

Laser scars removal

Fractional skin resurfacing involves the use of microbeams of laser energy that create zones of damaged tissue reaching through the epidermis into the deeper layers of the skin. These zones can be non-ablative, where the laser beam causes coagulation of the damaged tissue but does not destroy the outer layers of the skin, or ablative, where the laser beam vaporizes the damaged tissue.

Non-ablative procedures allow for a very quick return to full functionality, while ablative procedures are significantly more intense and invasive, but require fewer treatment sessions.

The Alma Hybrid OScar Hybrid Laser enables exceptional fractional treatment by utilizing both technologies. The ablative CO2 laser vaporizes tissue and creates ablative microzones with coagulated edges. Meanwhile, the non-ablative laser creates deeply coagulated microthermal zones in the dermis. This combination results in deep tissue regeneration, synthesis of new collagen, remodeling of the extracellular matrix, and scar remodeling along with superficial restoration of skin structure and color. It is the most effective method for treating all types of scars, from acne scars, through injuries, to surgical scars.

How do fractional lasers work?

The laser applicator delivers pulses in the form of precise microbeams, creating deep, narrow columns of coagulated tissue in the epidermis and dermis. Due to the high energy, collagen is selectively heated, with the treated area containing heated points (destroyed collagen) and non-heated points. This initiates a natural regeneration process, leading to the formation of new, healthy tissue that fills the columns damaged by coagulation. Healthy tissue fragments between the destroyed points accelerate the regeneration process. There is stimulation of new collagen formation at the damage sites, resulting in scar reduction and skin tightening.

The end result is healthier, smoother skin.

Fractional lasers are the best choice for procedures involving:

  • resurfacing - thorough skin reconstruction

  • removal of acne scars
  • removal of post-traumatic scars
  • removal of postoperative scars
  • removal of post-inflammatory scars
  • reduction of burn scars
  • reduction of enlarged skin pores
  • removal of discoloration
  • modeling skin irregularities

Removing acne scars with laser

Fractional lasers are one of the most effective methods for reducing acne scars. They work by creating micro-injuries in the skin, which stimulate natural regeneration and rebuilding processes. As a result, the skin gradually becomes smoother, and scars become less visible. Fractional lasers are preferred for removing acne scars because they allow for precise and controlled treatment, minimizing damage to healthy tissue. Compared to traditional methods such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion, they offer deeper and more effective skin remodeling, which is crucial for treating both superficial and deep scars.

There are three main types of fractional lasers used for reducing acne scars:

  • Ablative - remove the outer layers of the skin, resulting in intense regeneration and remodeling.
  • Non-ablative - work in deeper skin layers without damaging the epidermis, leading to gradual scar reduction with shorter healing times.
  • Hybrid - combine both technologies, providing high effectiveness with moderate recovery times.

The different types of fractional lasers allow for individualized therapy tailored to the type of scars and the patient's skin type, resulting in better outcomes and greater treatment comfort.

How do fractional lasers remove acne scars?

Fractional lasers emit a beam of light that is absorbed by water in the skin cells. This controlled tissue damage stimulates repair processes and collagen and elastin production - key proteins for healthy, firm skin.

Each laser works differently:

  • Ablative Lasers

Create deep micro-injuries that stimulate intense skin regeneration. They cause epidermal exfoliation, helping to remove scars and smooth the skin surface. They require a longer healing time (7-14 days) but are the most effective for deep atrophic scars.

  • Non-Ablative Lasers

Reach deeper skin layers, stimulating skin rebuilding without damaging the epidermis. The skin regenerates gradually, with significantly shorter healing times (1-3 days). Best for individuals with superficial scars and those who cannot afford a long recovery period.

  • Hybrid Lasers (Alma Hybrid)

Combination of ablative and non-ablative technologies, acting on both the skin surface and deeper layers. They provide quick results with shorter healing times than traditional ablative lasers (3-7 days). A good option for individuals seeking visible improvement with a moderate recovery period.

What are the effects of removing acne scars with lasers?

  • Gradual smoothing of acne scars - the skin becomes more even.
  • Improvement in skin structure and firmness - by stimulating collagen production.
  • Reduction of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation - the skin gains a more even tone.
  • Reduction of both shallow and deep scars - depending on the technology used.
  • Ability to adjust the treatment intensity - to the individual needs of the patient.
  • Shorter healing time compared to older methods - especially with hybrid and non-ablative lasers.

Full effects are seen after a series of 3-6 treatments, performed at 4-6 week intervals. Choosing the right laser depends on the extent of the scars, patient expectations, and time constraints related to recovery.

Dermapen 4.0 for scars

Microneedling with Dermapen 4.0 is an innovative system of pulsating needles that create vertical microchannels in the skin at a depth ranging from 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm. This process triggers natural regenerative mechanisms, leading to the remodeling of scar tissue and stimulating skin renewal. The treatment effectively supports the healing of acne scars, post-inflammatory scars, post-operative scars, burn scars, and stretch marks.

How does Dermapen 4.0 work on scars?

The essence of Dermapen 4.0's action lies in harnessing the body's ability for self-regeneration and tissue remodeling. During the treatment, thousands of precise micro-injuries are made, leading to intensive skin regeneration. These micro-injuries stimulate fibroblasts through platelet-derived growth factors, triggering the production of new collagen and elastin fibers. As a result, the skin becomes denser, more elastic, and tighter.

An additional benefit of the treatment is the increased absorption of active ingredients. The micro-channels created in the skin allow for deeper penetration of moisturizing, nourishing, and firming substances. As a result, the absorption of active ingredients increases by up to 1000 times, intensifying the regenerative processes.

Effects of Dermapen 4.0 on scars:

  • Reduction of acne scars, post-inflammatory scars, post-operative scars, and burn scars through gradual remodeling of scar tissue and its replacement with new, healthy skin.
  • Smoothing and reducing the visibility of stretch marks by stimulating regenerative processes and synthesizing new collagen.
  • Stimulation of collagen and elastin fiber production, improving skin structure and increasing its resilience to damage.
  • Improvement in skin density, elasticity, and firmness, making it tighter and more supple.
  • Evening out skin tone and reducing unevenness, leading to a more uniform and healthy complexion. Intensive moisturization and nourishment of the skin through better absorption of active ingredients, supporting the repair processes.
  • Reducing the visibility of pores and improving overall skin texture, resulting in smoother and more radiant skin.
  • Restoring a healthy appearance and rejuvenating the skin by activating natural regenerative mechanisms, providing a long-lasting revitalization effect.

Recommended number of treatments:

The recommended number of treatments depends on the skin condition and the extent of the issues. In most cases, a series of treatments is necessary to achieve visible results. For scars and stretch marks, it is recommended to undergo 6-8 sessions at intervals of 2-4 weeks for optimal results.

Deage microneedle radiofrequency

Microneedle radiofrequency is a modern technology used in the treatment of scars, including acne, postoperative, and post-traumatic scars. This procedure combines skin microneedling with heating its deep layers using electromagnetic radiation with radiofrequency (RF) waves. This method effectively stimulates the skin to regenerate, speeding up the remodeling of scar tissue and improving its structure.

How does microneedle radiofrequency work on scars?

This technology works in two ways - the mechanical microneedling stimulates the skin for natural regeneration, and the heat generated by RF energy stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin fibers. As a result of these processes, the skin's structure is rebuilt, effectively smoothing out scars and evening out its surface.

The procedure is carried out using two types of technologies:

  • Non-ablative microneedle technology (DeAge EX) works beneath the skin as it uses insulated needles that penetrate deep into the skin at adjustable depths from 0.5 to 3.5 mm. RF energy is delivered through the tips, heating the tissues at the level of the dermis without damaging the epidermis. This internal regeneration is ideal for scar remodeling and skin tightening. DeAge EX has a power adjustment system (100 levels) to tailor the intensity to the specific scars and skin type.
  • Ablative microneedle technology (Pixel RF) is a fractional microneedle method that combines microneedles with controlled skin damage. RF energy applied by the microneedles penetrates both the skin surface and its deeper layers, causing fractional micro-injuries that intensely stimulate collagen and elastin remodeling. The result is scar smoothing, skin texture improvement, and pigmentation reduction.

Effects of microneedle radiofrequency treatment on scars:

  • Reduction in the visibility of acne, postoperative, and post-traumatic scars through tissue regeneration and remodeling.
  • Intensive stimulation of collagen production, leading to skin tightening and strengthening.
  • Smoothing and evening out the skin's surface by reducing irregularities associated with scars.
  • Reduction of stretch marks by rebuilding elastin and collagen fibers.
  • Improvement in skin tension and elasticity, making it more resilient and resistant to damage.
  • Reduction of discoloration and evening out of the skin tone around scarred areas.
  • Stimulation of regenerative processes, accelerating healing and improving skin quality.

Microneedle radiofrequency is an effective method for reducing scars and other skin imperfections, offering long-lasting results thanks to advanced regenerative stimulation technology.

How to choose the right treatment?

Choosing the appropriate type of microneedle radiofrequency depends on the type and depth of scars and expected effects. It is also important to consider individual skin characteristics and the level of regeneration required for the specific skin changes.

  • If the scars are deep, located in the dermis, and require internal regeneration, the non-ablative microneedle technology (DeAge EX) may be a better choice. This type of therapy allows for skin structure remodeling without damaging the surface, reducing the risk of peeling and shortening the recovery time.
  • If the scars are more superficial, with skin irregularities or pigmentation issues, ablative microneedle technology (Pixel RF) may be more effective. Its fractional action influences both the skin surface and deeper layers, promoting comprehensive regeneration and skin texture improvement.

Tropocollagen for acne scars

The procedure for acne scars aims to reduce such imperfections. Currently, natural collagen is often used in these procedures due to its specific regenerative properties that fit into the scar remodeling process. Collagen is one of the most important building blocks of the skin, and administering the appropriate preparation through injections helps restore the proper structure to scarred tissues.

Mesotherapy using tropocollagen

The structure of the skin is composed of mature collagen fibers. Tropocollagen has the ability to strengthen tissues by properly interacting with collagen fibers. After administering the preparation, the tropocollagen contained in it incorporates into its damaged structures and as a precursor, activates the fibroblasts of the subcutaneous tissue to produce new collagen, promoting the regeneration of the skin affected by acne lesions. The action of the preparation with tropocollagen is also influenced by additional substances such as bioflavonoids and vitamins. The skin covered with acne scars regains its elasticity and density, thereby improving its condition.

Filling scars with hyaluronic acid

Using hyaluronic acid we can reduce atrophic scars by obtaining the effect of lifting the skin and filling the scar. Although the effect of the treatment is temporary and lasts about 12-24 months, hyaluronic acid injection additionally stimulates the skin to create repair mechanisms and collagen build-up. Thanks to this, the skin structure improves and subsequent filling may require less material consumption.

Atrophic scars are usually the result of acute inflammation in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. During scar formation, tissue contraction causes a depression in its surface visible outside in the form of "holes" in the skin. Atrophic scars usually arise as a result of acute forms of acne vulgaris, chickenpox or improper treatment with steroids.
