- wash your hands thoroughly before touching the earring or ear,
- clean the front and back of the ear twice a day, using Fluid For the Ear Care without removing earrings,
- then rotate earrings 180 degrees to the left and 180 degrees to the right, only half a turn, thus avoiding hair wrapping around the earring wire on the back of the earlobe,
- in the period between cleaning, the ear should be dry,
- hairspray, shampoo, soap and other preparations - keep them away from the ears,
- after shampooing, the ear should be rinsed with clean water and then purified with an ear lotion, as described above,
- pierced area should be cleaned with Fluid For the Ear Care, and then remain dry, especially after swimming or physical exercise.
NOT ALLOWED:
- do not remove the earrings,
- do not touch the ear and earrings unnecessarily,
- do not push the pin along the earring wire inside the ear hole- the pin must always be set at the end of the wire. Feel the setting each time you clean the ear - it must be felt slightly. It ensures, that the earring stays LOOSE during the healing period. This is CRUCIAL, because clenched earring can lead to infection.
EARLOBE:
- leave earrings continuously for 6 weeks,
- after 6 weeks, the stud can be removed and other type of earrings can be worn continuously,
- use the earring only with a straight wire style continuously for the first six months after piercing. The earring should be made out of surgical stainless steel or other non-allergenic (does not cause allergies) material.
Minor pain / redness may occur immediately - this is normal. This should settle within 48 hours, provided that after care is carried out. If undue pain / swelling / redness, IMMEDIATELY seek medical advice. If you got into an infection, do not remove the earring until you have consulted your doctor.
EAR CARTILAGE:
- leave earrings continuously for 12 weeks,
- after 12 weeks, the stud can be removed, and other simple wire earrings can be worn continuously,
- use only the straight wire style earrings, continuously for the first 12 months after the piercing. The earring should be made out of surgical stainless steel or other non-allergenic (does not cause allergies) material.
Due to the properties of the ear cartilage, special care should be maintained during the healing period. Minor pain / redness may occur immediately - this is normal. This should settle within 48 hours, provided that after care is carried out. If undue pain / swelling / redness, IMMEDIATELY seek medical advice. If you got into an infection, do not remove the earring until you have consulted your doctor.
IMPORTANT: Neglecting a proper care in accordance with the After Piercing Ear Care Instruction or not seeking medical advice IMMEDIATELY when a problem occurs, can cause permanent damage to the ear cartilage.
