Aptos rejuvenation methods were invented 16 years ago and to this day are systematically developed, offering a wide range of possibilities for the restoration of the beautiful, youthful contour of the face, neck and shoulders, thanks to rebuilding a strong base for the skin. Aptos thread injections allows lifting of the sagging tissues, restoring their original position, and placing them so that they are not falling down. It also allows improvement of the contours of soft tissues, restoring their volume and slowing the aging process.
APTOS LIGHT LIFT – HOW IT WORKS
Aptos lifting threads are injected by highly specialized and tailored to a particular area of treatment and implantation techniques, guiding needle. Due to their structure with micro-projections, the thread is infallibly placed in the soft tissues, creating strong support skeleton. Aptos Light Lift threads are safe through the use of a resorbable material, which has the added rejuvenating effect. Polylactic acid (L-lactic) activates the bio-revitalization of the tissues and slows down the aging process from the inside.
Advanced technology makes the treatment effective and less invasive, without placing the tissue on the metal hooks. This in turn does not limit patient’s ability to use high-tech treatments in the future.
INDICATIONS FOR APTOS THREAD LIFT PROCEDURE
APTOS threads are one of the most advanced and precise lifting techniques, allowing not only mechanical lifting of tissues but also skin structure rebuilding through biostimulation. The procedure can be performed on both women and men – as a part of anti-aging prophylaxis, contour correction, or skin regeneration after significant weight loss or natural aging.
The procedure is recommended for:
- sagging facial tissues (so-called "nasolabial folds"), blurred jawline, loss of a clear jawline,
- lowering of the brow arch, drooping upper eyelid, loss of a fresh look,
- deep nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and drooping corners of the mouth wrinkles,
- loss of volume in the central part of the face - sunken cheeks, cheek-jaw groove,
- skin sagging, small transverse neck and décolletage wrinkles,
- sagging body skin - especially arms, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, knees,
- minor facial asymmetries that can be corrected by appropriate thread anchoring,
- anti-aging prophylaxis (age 35-45) in patients with good skin elasticity who want to counteract visible signs of aging,
- as a complement to other therapies – e.g., after fillers, laser therapy, lipolysis, or surgical lifting, to maintain the effect.
The procedure can also be part of a comprehensive profiloplasty - a plan to restore facial harmony and proportions.
CONTRAINDICATIONS TO THE APTOS THREAD LIFT PROCEDURE
APTOS threads implantation is a procedure with a high safety profile, but it requires intervention in deeper tissue layers and close cooperation from the patient. That's why it is so important to exclude any risk factors that could lead to complications, healing disorders, or lack of effect.
Absolute contraindications:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding period - procedures that disrupt tissue integrity or affect skin metabolism are not performed during this specific time,
- Active cancer diseases or within 5 years after treatment completion - due to the risk of stimulating angiogenesis and cell division,
- Autoimmune diseases (e.g., lupus, scleroderma, RA) - may increase the risk of inflammatory reactions and disturbed healing,
- Bleeding disorders, blood clotting disorders - due to the increased risk of hematomas and difficulties with thread implantation,
- Continuous anticoagulant therapy that cannot be temporarily interrupted,
- Tendency to form keloids - threads may stimulate excessive scarring,
- Uncontrolled diabetes - disrupts tissue regeneration processes, increases the risk of infections,
- Active bacterial, viral, or fungal skin infections at the planned treatment site (e.g., herpes, acne),
- Advanced subcutaneous tissue atrophy, preventing safe thread anchoring.
Relative contraindications (temporary):
- Infectious conditions and weakened immune system (e.g., flu, cold, fever),
- Active phase of herpes - the procedure can be performed only 2 weeks after symptoms have subsided,
- Treatment with antibiotics or steroids - the procedure can be performed at least 14 days after treatment completion,
- Fresh suntan, sunburn, severe skin irritation,
- Menstruation (for facial procedures) - increases the risk of bruising and sensitivity to pain,
- Intake of supplements or drugs that reduce blood clotting (aspirin, vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids) - after individual assessment by the attending physician.
AFTER CARE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR APTOS THREAD LIFT
The APTOS thread implantation procedure is an advanced technique in aesthetic medicine that targets the deep layers of the skin and subcutaneous tissue. The result is not only an immediate lifting of the tissues but also long-term bio-stimulation. To maintain this effect and ensure proper healing, it is necessary to consciously and consistently follow post-procedural recommendations, especially in the first 14-21 days when the threads are integrating with the tissue.
What to do after the procedure?
- Sleep on your back for at least 5-7 nights to avoid pressure on the face or body in the implantation area.
- Limit intense facial expressions for a minimum of 7-10 days, avoiding wide yawning, intense laughter, gum chewing, or excessive mouth opening (e.g., when eating hard foods).
- Apply cold compresses (through a cotton towel, not directly on the skin) within the first day to help reduce swelling and minimize the risk of bruising.
- Avoid physical exertion, bending, lifting, and intense workouts for 10-14 days, especially after procedures on the face, neck, and abdominal areas.
- Avoid heating tissues by refraining from using saunas, steam rooms, tanning beds, and hot baths for a minimum of 2 weeks.
- Use SPF 50+ sunscreen on your face and exposed areas as UV radiation can disrupt skin regeneration.
- Maintain proper hydration and a light diet, especially in the first 2-3 days post-procedure.
- Apply recommended soothing or regenerating products if bruising or swelling occurs (e.g., creams with arnica).
What to avoid?
- Do not touch, massage, or press on the thread implantation sites for the first 10-14 days post-procedure.
- Avoid cosmetic treatments, peels, microdermabrasion, mesotherapy, or lasers on the face and neck for at least 4 weeks.
- Avoid facial massages or body manual therapies in areas where threads were implanted for a minimum of 6 weeks.
- Avoid dental procedures for at least 2-3 weeks after thread implantation on the face as wide mouth opening may affect thread stability.
- Avoid using cosmetics with heating, cooling, slimming, or strongly microcirculation-stimulating effects in the treated area as they may irritate tissues and disrupt thread integration.
- Avoid taking blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, omega-3) without consulting a doctor as they may increase the risk of bruising and hematomas.
Post-procedure observation and monitoring
- Minor irregularities, tensions, or skin thickening at the implantation sites may occur and typically resolve within a few days to a couple of weeks.
- Bruising and swelling may occur, especially in thin-skinned areas, but they are temporary and do not affect the final result.
- Scheduling a follow-up appointment around 3-4 weeks post-procedure allows for the assessment of the healing process and planning any further therapy stages if needed.
Proper post-procedural care after APTOS thread implantation is key to success, not only in terms of aesthetics but also for health. Thread implantation is a process that requires the body to regenerate, rebuild collagen, and adapt tissues. Through proper care and restrictions in the initial weeks, the lifting and rejuvenating effects will be more enduring, natural, and safe.
