How to get rid of wrinkles on the forehead?

Forehead wrinkles are one of the first wrinkles that appear on our face. How to "smooth" them out? And why is this area difficult to treat with procedures?
Key information
  • Forehead wrinkles are caused by facial expressions and the degradation of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid
  • The forehead is a challenging treatment area – the small amount of fat tissue excludes deep procedures
  • Botox inhibits the movement of facial muscles and prevents the formation of new wrinkles
  • Hyaluronic acid fills and smoothes existing wrinkles, activating skin regeneration
  • Laser treatments and microneedling mesotherapy (e.g., Dermapen 4) stimulate skin restructuring

How are forehead wrinkles formed?

A smooth forehead looks younger. Forehead wrinkles often add seriousness to our appearance (especially the vertical ones). The cause of expression lines on the forehead is, as their name suggests, our facial expressions. Depending on how much and in what way we work our facial muscles every day, that is how wrinkles will form.

Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases, and collagen and elastin fibers undergo degradation. When we tense the muscles, the skin at the point of the fold is much more exposed to the degradation of these fibers than in other places. Over time, collagen and elastin fibers drift apart more and more, and a permanent wrinkle is formed.

How to smooth out forehead wrinkles?

It has long been known that prevention is the best method for many ailments. Here, relaxing the forehead and getting rid of the habit of furrowing it is extremely important. But who in today's busy world is able to focus on this enough?

Aesthetic medicine meets these needs with a range of possibilities to deal with this problem.

However, contrary to appearances, the forehead is quite a problematic area. This is because there is a very small amount of fatty tissue on the forehead and the skin lies almost directly on the skull bones. For this very reason, deep treatments such as Sculptra or Radiesse collagen stimulators cannot be used there.

The most effective treatments for forehead wrinkles at Ambasada Urody in Warsaw are botox and hyaluronic acid filling, as well as effective laser treatments or needle or microneedle mesotherapy.

  • Botox reduces the activity of facial muscles, which inhibits the development of wrinkles, allows the skin to regenerate, and prevents them from deepening and new ones from forming.
  • Hyaluronic acid filling, on the other hand, allows for the replenishment of deficiencies of this substance in the places where wrinkles appear, which smoothes them and activates its regeneration process.
  • Laser treatments (ablative or non-ablative depending on needs) stimulate the skin to undergo restructuring and repair processes, and consequently, provide a rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction effect.
  • Microneedle mesotherapy treatments such as Demapen 4 work similarly.
