It is estimated that nearly 90% of women are struggling with stretch marks that appear most often during puberty, pregnancy, as a result of hormonal changes and weight gain. Most women are ashamed of their stretch marks and are willing to get rid of them once and for all.
Until recently, science has not offered these women too many methods of getting rid of stretch marks. Since the US Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted the Palomar company a certificate for fractional laser treatments to remove stretch marks, as a fully safe and effective device to treat stretch marks, doctors received excellent tool to help their patients. In the course of the study, Palomar laser was defined as "the first laser used to treat stretch marks, that really works." Clinical trials preceding the granting of a certificate showed improvement in the appearance of stretch marks in the range of 51-75%.
Non-ablative fractional Palomar laser for skin resurfacing minimizes unsightly appearance of stretch marks and does not require exclusion from everyday functionality. Laser applicator improves the color and texture of the skin in places where stretch marks appear, leaving the skin smoother and better-looking.
The applicator delivers laser pulses in the form of precise microbeams, creating in the epidermis and dermis deep, narrow columns of coagulated tissue. Then the process of natural regeneration is initiated and results in the formation of new, healthy tissue, which fills the column damaged by coagulation. Production of new collagen appears.
