DIY home scrubs that will help you naturally take care of your skin
Peeling is an extremely important skin care activity. It allows you to exfoliate unnecessary epidermis, and as a result, it allows the skin to better access the active ingredients contained in cosmetics. Of course, nothing can replace professional treatments by a specialist, but in times when this is not possible, it is worth helping yourself with professional home care cosmetics or using DIY peels. Here is a recipe for a few of them:
Who doesn't like to drink a cup of fresh, aromatic coffee from time to time? Not everyone knows that you can use its power even after drinking it. To do this, save the brewed coffee grounds and mix them with coconut or almond oil in a 3:1 ratio. This scrub perfectly stimulates circulation and has anti-cellulite effects. It is ideal for an energizing start to the day.
Sugar works very well as a gentle scrub because its crystals gradually dissolve in water, which prevents skin irritation, while exfoliating the epidermis well. Sugar also absorbs other ingredients perfectly, such as essential oils, which will allow for additional peeling effects. Sugar scrub is extremely easy to make. All you need to do is add 2-3 teaspoons of your favorite oil (e.g. argan, avocado or even olive oil) and a few drops of your favorite essential oil to about ⅓ cup of sugar in a bowl. For example, add lavender oil if you need relief and relaxation, and tea tree oil if you need to stimulate your skin to work intensively.
Salt peeling is a bit more invasive than sugar peeling, but it is effective and nourishes the skin well. Especially if we use good quality salt (e.g. Himalayan or sea). In the case of acne skin, it is worth trying black salt, which contains a lot of sulfur. The recipe for this peeling is similar to the one for sugar peeling. The addition of essential oils will also work great in this peeling.
- Apply the scrub to damp skin to reduce irritation.
- Don't do it too often. Such mechanical peelings should not be done more than twice a week.
- Massage the scrub well into your entire body. This will allow the nutrients to reach deeper and have a great effect on your tissues.
Follow with a moisturizing cream to use the awakened vessels to transport active substances, increase the effectiveness of the cream and reduce skin irritation.
