Corn removal

Corns are the result of hyperkeratosis of the epidermis in response to pressure. They are formed usually on the balls of feet where the bones are more prominent and cause rubbing of the skin of the shoe, earth or other bones. Thick corn increases the pressure on the inner layers of the skin. It happens at the stratum corneum which cannot be separated and creates a core penetrating into the skin, thus increasing the pain. If the finger is inflamed, there will be pain, itching, and redness.

The corns should be removed because if they are not removed, they will be pushed deeper and deeper, causing more and more pain. They can penetrate beyond the dermis and cause inflammation.
